How to remove sports stains

By Purex | Jun. 2, 2015 | Stain Lab

Summertime is when your kids are outside playing sports with friends and neighbors. They’re going to have a lot of fun, and get a little messy at the same time. But don’t fret! We can help you remove those rough and tumble sports stains.

Remove Grass stains:
When using Zout®, the best way is to apply a little bit to the stain, gently rub it, and let it sit for five minutes. Then wash at the warmest setting that the garment will allow with your favorite Purex detergent. If this is a new product for you or a shirt that you’ve never pre-treated before, please test the product on the inside, such as on the hem. The fresher the stain, the easier it is to remove, so try to pre-treat and wash as soon as possible!

Remove Dirt stains:
Presoak the cloth in 20 Mule Team Borax® and hot water, then wash with Purex detergent in the warmest water recommended on the garment label. For heavy stains, use Purex with Oxi. Don’t forget to test an inside seam for colorfastness.

Remove Mud stains:
Let the stain dry then brush off as much mud as possible. Let it soak overnight in water with Purex detergent and 20 Mule Team Borax. Pretreat with Purex detergent before laundering in the warmest water recommended on the garment label. Test an inseam then use Purex with Oxi® for heavier stains.
