Ultra Purex liquid detergents work great in all temperatures. But to keep your clothes from fading, and to consume less energy, always use water that is 70 degrees Fahrenheit or colder.
Believe it or not, more than 85% of homes in the U.S. have hard water, and clothes that are washed in hard water tend to look dingy and feel harsh. Try adding ½ cup of 20 Mule Team® Borax to your wash load. It will help soften water and prolong the life of your clothes.
A variety of Ultra Purex detergent products are specially formulated with added benefits, and may require a different amount of liquid per load than our regular Purex detergents. Always check the back label on the back of the package—you’ll find the accurate cap fill levels there.

You came to the right place! For best results, we recommend that you:
1. Check all fabric labels for special laundry care instructions.
2. Pre-treat any visible stains using Purex detergent or Zout® stain remover. Learn more about how to remove tough stains.
3. Start the washer using the temperature setting noted on fabric care labels.
4. Measure and add Purex detergent. For hard water, we also recommend adding ½ cup of 20 Mule Team® Borax.
5. Add laundry, washing similar colors together.
6. For extra softening and static control, consider adding Purex liquid fabric softener during the final rinse cycle. You can also add Purex fabric softener sheets to the dryer.

Like everyone else, I had tried all the other baby detergents out there, along with their enormous price tags. And because I have a toddler with extremely sensitive skin, I had resorted to making my own detergent at home rather than keep having to buy the stuff.
When I saw Purex Baby and it’s rational price tag, I thought there’s either got to be a catch, or I’ll have to use 4 cups a load. But with a new baby on the way, it was worth at least giving it a shot. So I did…
And my WHOLE WORLD CHANGED. I LOVE this detergent!!! It cleans everything well, and it’s so gentle on my daughter’s skin! The best part of all is the smell… oh the smell! I can not get enough of it.
It works so well and is so sensibly priced and smells SO GOOD that now I’m washing all of our laundry in it (even my 9 year old son loves the smell and doesn’t give me guff about washing his clothes in “baby soap” anymore). Please don’t ever change, Purex Baby! We love you!
Recently, I visited my daughter for the birth of her first baby. She bought Purex Baby since she had coupons (our family has always used Tide). I washed clothes for her, using Purex Baby on all her clothes since she would be holding the baby and did not want her to react to her detergent. It worked SO WELL!!
I used regular Purex on her husband’s work clothes and they came out spotless and fresh smelling.
On my way back I stopped off and bought Purex to use on my clothes. It is about half the cost of Tide and works so well I won’t miss Tide.
