Being a Mom is tough. Taking care of kids full-time is exhausting, and the free time you have while they’re at school is a true luxury. This time shouldn’t go to waste, so check out these five tips on how to make the most of your day while your kids are at school.

Make a schedule and stick to it.

Make a schedule, and stick to it. Time is your biggest resource, and you’ve got to organize it well so you stay busy and productive through the day. Structuring your days in chunks of time and on a consistent basis will help you accomplish everything you need or want to do.

Intermingle chores with relaxing activities.

Intermingle chores with relaxing activities. While you may feel like your time is best spent running errands all day, be sure to include time to yourself where you can get coffee with a friend or unwind on a relaxing walk. These activities are critical to minimizing stress and will provide incentives to finish chores and other tasks quickly.

Minimize technology time wasting.

Minimize technology time wasting. A quick glance down at your phone can quickly turn into an hour-long time suck, so the use of productivity apps can help you keep your technology use at bay. Apps such as “Moment” and “Checky” will remind you how much time you spend using your phone.

Include a workout.

Include a workout. Even if it is a quick one, a workout will boost your mood, energy and focus throughout the day.

Volunteer. Volunteering is a great way to get further involved with your local community and give back. Whether it is your child’s school or a charity organization, extra volunteers are always needed. Dedicating a few hours once or twice a week to volunteering will help you meet new people.

We hope that these tips will help you make the most of your day AND make after-school time with your kids extra special!
